Critical Needs

The growth of Mansfield and the continued growth of First Methodist Mansfield in the last 10-15 years has created critical needs in a variety of areas in the church. In May of 2017, our church decided to form a building committee and charged them with developing a master plan for the future of First Methodist Mansfield.

In the fall of 2017, we met with key leaders in our church to establish our strengths, weaknesses and priorities. Here is what we learned.

Long Range Master Plan

With congregational feedback, knowledge, data collected about our current capacity, and attendance projections for the next 5 years, our architects created a multi-phase long range master plan. The goal of the new master plan is to maximize the future usage of our current campus. Careful prayer and planning on how to best implement this master plan has led the building team to develop a list of current priorities for the first phases of our future growth.

What is the next step?

At Starting Point, our membership class, we talk about our mission Making disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love others and serve the world. Alongside our mission statement are 5 core values and one of those values we believe in is Everyone has a next step. And we believe that if you don’t take that step, you might make the wrong step. Sometimes, your next step is a BIG step and a BOLD step. This is true for your individual life and our life together as First Methodist Mansfield.

This building campaign is the next step God is calling us as a church family to take.

Together we are looking to the future. Together we’re asking God to lead us into what’s next for our faith family. Together we are asking each individual and family who calls First Methodist Mansfield home to prayerfully make a financial commitment to the future God is leading us to pursue.
